Umuahia, Nigeria – Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has today granted automatic employment to nine distinguished ex-corps members of Abia origin who recently received the prestigious Presidential NYSC Honours Award for their outstanding performance during their national service.
The former corps members were celebrated for their exceptional contributions in various states across Nigeria, ranging from education, healthcare, and community development. Their achievements earned them national recognition under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Honours Award programme, which acknowledges individuals who go above and beyond in their service to the nation.
Governor Otti, while hosting the awardees at the Government House in Umuahia, praised their dedication, innovation, and service-oriented mindset. He noted that their remarkable achievements have brought pride not only to Abia State but to the entire country.
“In recognition of your excellence, selflessness, and the honour you’ve brought to Abia State, I am pleased to announce that you have all been offered automatic employment into the Abia State Civil Service or any other area of your professional calling within the state,” the Governor said.
The Governor also encouraged youths across the state to emulate the awardees by striving for excellence and service to humanity, adding that his administration is committed to rewarding merit, hard work, and integrity.
The honoured ex-corps members expressed their gratitude to Governor Otti for the recognition and employment gesture, pledging to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of Abia State.
