NNPC Deploys Over 1,000 Newly Recruited Employees Across Business Units

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has deployed more than 1,000 newly recruited employees across its various business units and operational locations as part of efforts to strengthen its workforce and support ongoing transformation initiatives.

The deployment follows the completion of the company’s recently concluded nationwide recruitment exercise, which attracted thousands of applications from qualified Nigerians seeking employment in the oil and gas sector.

According to NNPC Ltd., the newly engaged employees have been assigned to strategic business divisions and subsidiaries where they are expected to contribute to the company’s operational efficiency, innovation and long-term growth objectives.

The company said the recruitment was conducted through a transparent and merit-based process designed to attract qualified professionals with the skills needed to drive its evolving business operations.

NNPC noted that the deployment is expected to enhance manpower across critical areas of the organisation, including upstream, midstream and downstream operations, engineering, finance, information technology, legal services and corporate support functions.

The national oil company added that the exercise forms part of its broader human capital development strategy aimed at building a highly skilled workforce capable of supporting its commercial objectives following its transition into a limited liability company under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, operational excellence and the development of Nigerian talent, stating that continuous investment in human resources remains essential to achieving sustainable growth in the country’s energy sector.

The recruitment exercise marked one of NNPC Ltd.’s largest employment drives in recent years and came amid ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning the company as a commercially viable and globally competitive energy enterprise.

Industry observers say the addition of over 1,000 employees is expected to strengthen the company’s technical and operational capacity while creating employment opportunities for qualified Nigerians in the highly competitive oil and gas industry.

NNPC Ltd. has continued to pursue organisational reforms, improve corporate governance and expand investments across the energy value chain as it seeks to enhance productivity, increase oil and gas production and contribute to Nigeria’s energy security and economic development.
